Padraig Parkinson, a funny player

Padraig Parkinson

Padraig Parkinson is also famous for getting third at the 1999 World Series of Poker, where he lost against his compatriot Noel Furlong. Originally, Padraig did not want to play poker at the Late Night poker because he did not want the audience to see his cards.

However, once he was told about the amount of money in the jackpot, Padraig Parkinson changed his mind. The sponsoring was also a decisive factor. Padraig was favorite in the bet with 2/1, against Phil Hellmuth, series 3 winner, who had 5/2. Nevertheless, Padraig opted for Ken Lennáard who got second. Phil Hellmuth later said he had been able to see Padraig Parkinson cards; fact which did not stopped him from winning the game.

Padraig Parkinson still participates in a lot of freeroll poker tournaments y has won money in the World Poker Tour and in the European Poker Tour. On December of 2009, he won the opening event of the United Kingdom & Ireland Poker Tour on his native town, Galway, taking home 125,000€.

Padraig also has time to report poker events like the Poker Nations Cup and the Football & Poker Legends of PartyPoker. By 2010, his winnings in live poker competitions were over 1.6 million dollars.
