The adverse weather conditions in the United Kingdom have forced organizers of the €1,000+100 buy-in €250k Guaranteed event, which is part of the Poker Irish Championship, to delay it to 3rd December. UKIPT organizers have organized a €10,000 freeroll for the registered poker players who arrive on 2nd December
Due to the changes in the schedule, the UKIPT has become a three-day event with only one starting day. Many airports and roads are currently closed due to the bad weather conditions that affected Europe in the past few days, which makes it more difficult for players to get to the tournament venue.
“We are very sorry to have to postpone the event by one day, but it is the most sensible and fair option given that so many of our poker players would have had great difficulty getting here on time for tomorrow’s scheduled start,” the organizers of the poker competition said.
The United Kingdom is in a standstill because of the heavy snow and the weather conditions. As a result, Gatwick and Edinburgh airports had to close for several hours in different days and the majority of the road and rail network is blocked. Many events, just like this poker tournament, were affected by the weather.
